About Nuhist Tablet

Nuhist Tablet is used to treat symptoms of the common cold, such as sneezing, runny nose, fever, headache, body pains, congestion, stuffy nose, or watery eyes. The common cold is a respiratory illness affecting the nose and throat. It is mostly caused by viruses known as “rhinoviruses”. The virus enters the body through the nose, mouth, or eyes and spreads easily through droplets in the air when the person who is sick sneezes, coughs, or talks.

Nuhist Tablet is a combination of four drugs: Caffeine, Diphenhydramine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. Caffeine is a stimulant that increases the effect of paracetamol. Diphenhydramine belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.  Paracetamol is an analgesic (relieves pain) and antipyretic (reduces fever) that works by inhibiting the production of certain chemical messengers in the brain known as prostaglandins that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. Thereby, provides relief from congestion and decreasing mucus production. Together, Nuhist Tablet helps to provide relief from common cold symptoms.

Take Nuhist Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Nuhist Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience drowsiness, headache, dizziness, tiredness, disturbance in attention, and dry mouth. Most of these side effects of Nuhist Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Nuhist Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you are advised to consult a doctor before taking Nuhist Tablet . Nuhist Tablet is not recommended for children below 12 years. Please do not take more than the prescribed dose of Nuhist Tablet as it may cause severe liver damage. Avoid excessive intake of caffeine as it may cause shaking, difficulty sleeping, and uncomfortable feelings in the chest.
